How a PhD in Finance Led to Building Automation Systems
I am completing my PhD in Accounting and Finance at SRM Institute Chennai. The research is rigorous. The reading is endless. But somewhere in the middle of studying financial systems, I started seeing a pattern everywhere I looked.
Small businesses drowning in manual work.
A salon owner entering sales into a spreadsheet every Sunday night. A logistics company manually following up 40 deliveries a day on WhatsApp. A retail business losing customers because no one could reply fast enough.
These were not technology problems. They were systems problems. And I had the skills to fix them.
What Makes Me Different
Two things.
I come from finance first, not tech. Before thinking about which tool solves a problem, I ask what the problem is actually costing the business. I can talk ROI, cashflow, and P&L with a business owner, not just features and workflows.
Second: I build everything myself. Workflow architecture, AI logic, database, dashboard. The person you talk to is the person who builds it.
